Lord Caitanya Mahäprabhu prays, nämnäm akäri bahudhä nija-sarva-çaktis taträrpitä niyamitaù smaraëe na kälaù etädåçé tava kåpä bhagavan mamäpi durdaivam édåçam ihäjani nänurägaù "O my Lord! Y ou r h oly name alone can render all benediction upon the living beings, and therefore Y ou have hundreds and millions of names, like Kåñëa and Govinda. In these transcendental names You have invested all Y ou r t ranscendental energies, and there is no hard and fast rule for chanting these holy names. O my Lord!

This merging is recommended neither by Çré 31 Kåñëa in Bhagavad-gétä nor by the disciplic succession of Vaiñëava philosophers. Lord Caitanya Mahäprabhu wrote on this subject in His Çikñäñöaka (4): na dhanaà na janaà na sundaréà kavitäà vä jagad-éça kämaye mama janmani janmanéçvare bhavatäd bhaktir ahaituké tvayi [Cc. 29, Çikñäñöaka 4] "O almighty Lord! I have no desire to accumulate wealth, nor have I any desire to enjoy beautiful women, nor do I want any number of followers. " When there is birth after birth, there is no liberation.

Lord Caitanya Mahäprabhu, who is not only considered to be a realized soul but an incarnation of Kåñëa Himself, has pointed out that in this age of Kali, although men have no real facilities for self-realization, Kåñëa is so kind that He 34 has given this çabda (sound incarnation) to be utilized as the yuga-dharma, or way of realization of this age. No special qualification is necessary for this method; we need not even know Sanskrit. The vibrations of Hare Kåñëa are so potent that anyone can immediately begin chanting them, without any knowledge of Sanskrit whatsoever.
