Using 6-ply red floss, stitch the mouth with a single long stitch. Refer to the template for placement of all facial features, or see page 19 for tips on freehand sewing other types of facial expressions. Be sure to tie off all knots on the wrong side of the rose felt. With 6-ply red floss, make 3 X’s down the front of the jacket, creating each X by sewing 2 long straight stitches that cross each other in the middle. Sew cuffs onto the sleeves with red floss using a double running stitch. Make sure, as you do this, to sew through the hands, which are tucked beneath the sleeves.
